FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT GOES INTO CREATING A PAINTING ESTIMATE?

The first step to getting your painting estimate is contacting Devin McHale, owner of McHale’s Painters, by phone or email.

WHAT MAKES SOME PAINTS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHERS?

Inexpensive paint is heavily diluted with solvents and contains a low-grade of pigments and resins. While it may look nice, budget paints will require more coats and future re-applications. High-quality paints aren’t as diluted. By choosing high-quality paint, the final product will be a beautiful and durable finish that will last for many years.

DO YOU USE OIL-BASED OR LATEX-BASED PAINTS?

Oil-based paints are best to cover wood trim work and doors, metal surfaces and for priming certain areas to prevent bleed-through.

CAN YOU PAINT LATEX OVER A SURFACE THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY PAINTED WITH OIL?

Yes, however, before we do, the surface must be sanded and primed.

ARE YOU INSURED AND LICENSED?

Our painters are insured and require proper training before they go out for a job.

HOW MUCH DO PAINTERS CHARGE?

We consider several factors for the price of a painting job, such as the size of the room, the number of rooms, labor and material prices.
